Facebook prepares iPad app

iPad from Apple

Even though the iPad has been out for 15 months there has been one app that has been missing from the major device, an official Facebook application that allows users to jump right onto the social networking website without using a web browser. This is set to finally change as Facebook has announced that they will launch a new app that will be designed for special use only with the iPad making it worth the wait according to sources that are close to the project that has been in development for the past year.

What could have taken so long is up for debate however as anonymous sources are reporting that the app is going to have special photo and video features that are not available on the website, but a spokesman for Facebook stated that they do not have anything to say about the iPad app. What has been known is that Apple and Facebook may be at odds as Facebook is working on undermining the app market which Apple currently controls. Add in the fact that Apple has signed to work with Twitter on its next iPad and iPhone upgrades, and you can see why the two have not exactly been rushing this new product out.
